Approved immigrants holding a valid COPR are now allowed to travel to Canada!

Starting June 21st, individuals approved for permanent residence holding a valid COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) are allowed to enter Canada and complete their landing.

More than 23,000 COPRs have been issued since March 2020 but COPR holders were not allowed to enter Canada due to travel restrictions. Finally, the long wait has come to an end.

A valid COPR is required for entering Canada. If your COPR has expired, IRCC will issue new COPRs. New information will be posted on IRCC’s website shortly.

You should not book your flight to Canada or attempt to enter Canada with an expired COPR.

COPR holders will be subject to public health and safety protocols at the time of arrival.
