To visit Canada everyone requires a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) unless you are from a visa-exempt country.
Take a look at our list of visa-exempt countries. Keep in mind that foreign nationals visiting or transiting through Canada from a visa-exempt country are required to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The purpose of an eTA is to pre-screen these foreign nationals prior to coming to Canada.
Exceptions for an eTA include United States citizens.
A visitor visa can be used for several purposes such as visiting family and friends in Canada, attending a seminar or exhibition, tourism, or researching the market to establish a business in Canada. A Canadian visitor visa allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months.
